The character of the autotune is slightly different to the Eventide but it works and is remarkably low CPU. to all instances at once.Īnyway, it's a lot of fun and sounds pretty close. Also made some nice rack controls so you can set the key to quantise to, tune speed etc. Those plugins only work on one note though, so I made an ableton rack with 6 chains, each with an instance of Waves real-time autotune on, then used Max to split the midi notes I'm playing and send them to the midi-in for each instance of the plugin. There is still a very small amount of latency (0-4ms) within the plugin, but it doesn't report any latency so no plugin latency correction is applied to the whole DAW. Back when Bon Iver was making the second album, they solved this by using some fabulously expensive eventide H8000 hardware.īut nowadays you can get a couple of zero-added-latency autotune plugins that have midi input, Waves and Antares both do one. ![]() ![]() The problem with most harmoniser plugins that take midi input is that the latency is too high for live use. I made my own Messina in ableton a while back.
