![]() The english voice acting is just brillant and fits perfectly. It sounds good with Sound Blaster Pro-setting, but it really shines if played with MT32-setting or - even better - with a suitable Soundfont (I recommend SGM-V2.01). Added support for The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Rose Tattoo. The music is great too, with a catchy theme music and many variations to it. SCUMM: - Fixed missing translations in the in-game quit and restart. Graphically this game is a beauty even today - it's true that the movements of the protagonists and npcs are a bit wonky, but the backgrounds and environments are beautiful and bring you right back in Victorian times. Just be sure to check all things on the screen carefully as it can open new dialogues. One minor thing is that sometimes it's easy to miss dialogues that are critical for the progression. ![]() And this game is long, takes quite some time to be solved. The story itself is complex, interesting and will guide you through SH's London, from residences of nobles to the miserable existence of the workers in East End, from the cosy Baker Street to the misty shores of the River Thames. Why? Because it captures not only the spirit of SH perfectly (even allowing the player to do chemical experiments) but also the spirit of the whole Victorian era: Every tiny thing in this world is commented if you look at it, it's full of cultural and historical references and informations and makes you feel as if you were there, in London on the brink of the century.
